Shivaratri is the biggest festival celebrated in the temple. A huge fare is organized on the auspicious occasion. Bhaang Pakodas are the key and unique food served on the festival.
It is believed that Guru Dronacharya performed penace in the temple. Guru Dronacharya was guru of Kauravas and Pandavas. When Guru Dronacharya’s son Ashwathama was born in the cave, there was nothing to feed here. Guru Dronacharya prayed Lord Shiva, who in turn blessed the place with natural drippling milk. Over the period of time, milk has turned into water.
Tapkeshwar temple is located in the Garhi Cantt area of DehraDun. Mostly the good and reputed hotels are around the clock tower area.
There are very few and small restaurants (dhabas) in and around Tapkeshwar temple area. However, as tourists go towards clock tower, there are multiple choices of restaurants in the city of DehraDun.
