History of George Everest House in Mussoorie – Sir George Everest was a British surveyor who served Survey Of India for thirteen years from 1830 to 1843. He constructed his house on this site, to perform surveys. Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world is named after the same surveyor.

Sir George Everest House is located in Haathi Paon area, off the road connecting DehraDun and Mussoorie.
The current house structure at Sir George Everest House is under Survey of India, and is neglected. Although a lot of tourists visit here for tourism purpose.
