Neelkanth can be split into two words neel meaning blue and kanth meaning throat. Inside the temple shivalinga is placed. There is ample parking space available on the road to Neelkanth temple, and after parking tourists may have to walk down till the temple. Some local food shops are available for the tourists.
During the weekends and on the Hindu festival of Shivratri, the temple attracts a lot of crowd from devotees. Also in the month of Saavan, lots of devotees visit the temple.
The temple walls depict the famous story of manthan, which was the fight between God and Demons.
Besides the temple there is a small natural water spring for the tourists to take bath, if they wish to, before visiting the temple.
