Lakshman Jhula was replaced by the old bridge, which was washed away by the floods in October 1924. The new bridge was opened to traffic in year 1930. The bridge is 450 feet long.
Compared to Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula is on the outskirts of Rishikesh, though not far away. Recently, there have been many cafe and shops that have come up in the area. Lakshman Jhula attracts a lot of crowd, especially the foreigner crowd.
The famous German Bakery of Rishikesh is very close to Lakshman Jhula.
At the time of Holi, lot of crowd celebrate the Indian festival with lots of enthusiasm, close to Lakshman Jhula.
