There are two ways to reach Gun Hill – either by an easy to moderate trek route or by cable cara, which are available from Mall Road. The cable car experience is once in a lifetime, offering beautiful views of Dun Valley and surrounding areas.
Over the Gun Hill Top – Over the top of Gun Hill, there are a lot of snacks vendors, offering noodles, tea as it is quite cold over there even during the summers. There are also some view points, with telescope installed, from where popular Himalayan ranges can be seen.
Why the name Gun Hill? – During the early British Raj times, a gun used to be installed at the hill top and it used to be fired once a day, allowing people to adjust their watches.
